Sweetie Peyes Baby Sling
Ten Benefits of Carrying Your Baby in a Sling
- A calm and well adjusted baby: All babies need to be close to you. Mom is baby’s source of safety, food and comfort. Babies that are held cry less, and are more organized in their physical and emotional development as holding them lets them adapt to being on the outside.
- Convenient: Prams & strollers are bulky and have to be lugged around between home & vehicles so you end up carrying stroller baby and bags!!! Keep a sling in your car and in the home then all you need to go out is babies bag and baby – it allows you to push that shopping cart and carry baby at the same time.
- Development of Emotional Needs. Crying takes a lot of energy out of your baby, and it stresses them out. This energy should be used for growing and developing. Being close to mom provides a strong foundation of trust, and your baby will have developed the tools to be independent and emotionally strong when they grow older.
- Financial. Prams and other baby gear are expensive inn comparison to a sling so slings are a cost effective way of getting around with baby that way you can have more than one.
- Development of Physical Needs. As your baby is close to you there will be a lot more interaction between you and your baby than there will if baby was in a pram or carry cot thus baby will develop better eye/hand coordination as you play with him/her more regularly.
- Breastfeeding. A sling is a fantastic aid in breast feeding as it allows you the freedom of having both hands free while feeding baby. Baby also benefits by being held securely to mum and allows mum more freedom of feeding baby even while on the move.
- Safety & Security. Buy keeping your baby close to you in a sling if poses a problem for would be baby snatchers as baby is close to you all the time. An added benefit is that because baby is close to you this cuts down the amount of touching ect that baby will receive as opposed to being in a pram or stroller – thus lessening the hazard of exposure to bacteria and viruses.
- Dexterity. Win/win – your baby is close to you and you have two free hands – what more needs to be said! Remember safety first – don’t work near heat sources such as stoves and irons or with sharp instruments while carrying baby – even in a sling!
- Parenting. If you have more than one child then things can get tricky and complicated! Having baby in sling allows you the freedom to take care of the siblings without baby feeling neglected. If you’re older child is still a toddler you can also carry it in a sling leaving it not feeling left out.
- Natural. We have for millennia carried baby close to us – only in recent times have we developed strollers and prams, but these devices keep baby away from us – think about it all other primates (monkeys & apes) carry there young with them and this develops strong family bonds... what could be more natural than carrying baby around with you – in a sling of course!
Sweetie Peyes Measurement instructions
Measure your self
It is important to get the size right for both your precious little and mom.
Measure yourself diagonally from the top end of your shoulder to the top of your opposite hip, where where your precious little one sit. Its that easy! Just remember to hold the measuring tape quite loose. The tape should hang in a half moon position.
If you are pregnant, get someone to measure you in the same way, but along your back. If you are in between sizes, choose the next size down.
You dont have to take your babies size into consideration as the pouch sling is made to measure for the mom.
